About Hangouts

International Sketchnote Hangout, #SNHangout, is a free 1 hour Google Meet/Hangout that takes place at least once per month and is organised on a voluntary basis. Each Hangout has an overarching topic that is practice and discussed. The purpose of the Sketchnote Hangout is to give the sketchnote community the opportunity to discuss, obtain advice and support, and practice Sketchnoting within a friendly and comfortable international environment.

Come one, come all, beginners, intermediate and experienced sketchnoters are welcome

Hangout URL? 

10 minutes before the hangout joining instructions will be added to Upcoming Hangouts. Attendence is first-come, first-served.

What should I bring? 

Your favourite pen, some paper or digital drawing device.

Will the hangout be recorded?

Due to the nature of the hangouts, i.e. often taking place within the host, facilitator(s) and attendee(s) personal environment, they are not recorded.

Who organises Sketchnote Hangout?

By day, Dr Makayla Lewis has a PhD in human-computer interaction from City University London. Her key interests are human-computer interaction, user experience, co-design, human factors in cyber security and smart money, and sketching in HCI. Currently, Makayla is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on artificial intelligence futures in next-generation professional services project at the University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martin’s Innovation Insights Hub.

Makayla (aka Maccy) is also an accomplished visual thinker, sketcher, and visual note taker and her works have been featured in three visual thinking books and Adobe Blog. Makayla is a sketchnote artist and daily doodler who also enjoys sharing her process of visual thinking by organising international Sketchnote Hangout, SketchnoteLDN, and sketchnote workshops. She is often seen in meetings, seminars, conferences, and events sketchnoting and has provided visuals for a multitude of organisations, conferences, and events.
